Remembering D-Day

NormandyDday

The Gold Beach at Arromanches, where British troops landed on D-Day 70 years ago. The concrete blocks scattered in the ocean are what’s left of the artificial Mulberry Harbour. It allowed the Allied troops to get on shore along with much needed equipment, which ultimately led to their victory. My tip: before going to the beach, go to the D-Day museum just up the hill and watch the ‘Arromanches 360°‘ movie first. The film tells the story of the bloody Battle of Normandy, projecting original footage on 9 huge screens. It will make your walk on the beach all the more intense…
