A different kind of waterfall

This road sign on the island of La Réunion, in the Indian Ocean, took me by surprise. ‘Pisse en l’air’ is French for, well, I’m sure you can take a guess. Even though it has nothing to do with peeing, there’s still water involved…

‘Pisse en l’air’ is … a waterfall! The water flows from the mountainside and ends up directly on the street, hence the name ‘piss in the air’. The road sign warns drivers to be aware of the sudden spurt of water, because even though it looks harmless from a distance, you definitely wouldn’t want to be driving under it in a cabrio!
